About Us
Indian Business & Professional Women (IBPW), formerly Indian Women in Business (IWIB) was founded in 1988 primarily as a support network, and to provide a forum through which members could identify and address issues of mutual concern. In order to encourage and simulate business and professional potential among women, IBPW continues to have some noteworthy personalities as guest speakers at its seminars & workshops, and has showcased several member-owned businesses.

IBPW has emerged as the San Fransisco Bay Area's leading networking group for both entrepreneurs as well as professional women. Join us, and be part of this valuable community resource. Here's how we grew:
1994: Name change from Indian Women in Business to Indian Business & Professional Women.
1995: IBPW Day proclaimed by City of Milpitas, banquet with over 300 attendees
1996: New constitution and incorporation
1997: Non-profit status
1997: Inspire..Aspire..Achieve, a full day conference with over 200 attendees
1999: Ten year anniversary celebration with over 100 attendees

Our seminars range from mentoring workshops, career development strategies, communication styles, leadership skills, media and marketing, managing personal finances and investments, balancing career and family, growth and proliferation of the Internet, to the most popular being trials and triumph stories of successful individuals in various walks of life.
Speakers:
We invite speakers from various backgrounds, CEOs and presidents of corporations, entrepreneurs, educators, media journalists, politicians etc., to share their experiences with us.
We arrange four to five events annually and also participate in events of other organizations.
